Curious Mother I Canvas

This large free flowing piece follows the forms of the smaller charcoal piece on paper. It was shown in New York at Elga Wimmer Gallery in 2020 along with the drawing. I discovered the source in a park outside one of Peter the Great’s palaces on the Baltic Sea on a
Trip to Russia one summer. The tree looked so feminine to me I began exploring it’s forms as soon as we returned to New York. When possible I take digital photos of trees that spark my interest in the human tree parallel and this tree a good example of this theme.
