Viareggio Figures

These two tree forms are the genesis of my paintings dating from 2000. I discovered them in Viareggio, Italy while on an extended visit with my husband who worked with mathematicians in Pisa. I gained so much from that free time I had to explore the 500, year old Sycamore trees that grew in a village park there. They inspired my work for the next 20 years!
