Dark Mood

This charcoal drawing is the genesis of my small acrylic on canvas and large acrylic and gesso on canvas works. It is a mystery why some works seem to affect an artist to explore them in various mediums. I have loved this tree until it was taken down from Riverside Park. Since I began drawing trees in the parks I have realized the level of change that takes place in nature and in our lives. Things are constantly disappearing while others are appearing. We must be very resilient to adapt to so much life change!
