Gold Leaf Pile

One year I walked around New York City parks collecting the fallen autumn leaves. I took them back to my studio and painted each one individually with gel medium on both sides to preserve the leaves. Then I covered them with gold acrylic paint. I showed this piece at Black and White Gallery in Chelsea. There is a upturned painted basket underneath to give the pile more volume.
